InVision Human Services is a Pittsburgh-based non-profit providing support to hundreds of special needs individuals across Pennsylvania. Their team of over 650 employees serves individuals with disabilities by offering personalized support plans, in-home assistance, community programs, and behavioral health services.
Leverage APIs to Expand the Capabilities of UKG Pro™
InVision was using multiple enterprise applications to manage their more than 650 employees. Each system independently managed information such as demographic details, timesheets, mileage, and medication administration records.
The lack of connectivity between each application created challenges for both InVision management and employees. New hires weren't added to systems in real-time, and management had to manually enter information across multiple systems.
The disconnect created a poor experience for users and left management with an inability to use data to identify ways to create better outcomes for their communities.
InVision sought a partner who could connect their Human Resources Management System (HRIS) and Electronic Medication Administration Record (EMAR), with the idea to eventually connect each of their other stand-alone systems.
InVision was already a UKG Pro™ customer so they reached out to their account representative to ask for support with their integration. UKG referred them to the experts at Align HCM, and after meeting with other vendors, InVision choose Align HCM due to their deep level of expertise and experience with software integrations.
InVision worked with Align HCM to:
1) Use APIs to expand the capabilities of UKG Pro™ by connecting the EMAR and HRIS so state-regulated medication delivery reports were automatically synced with employee reports.
2) Design system logic that automatically updated new employee data in real-time. (It was previously only updated weekly.)
3) Create a better user experience for both new and existing employees, and lay the foundation for future plans to connect other enterprise systems.
InVision now has better real-time control over their data. Their EMAR and HRIS are connected, making it easier to monitor medication reports and get the data needed to make better decisions regarding systems and processes.
With the detailed documentation provided by Align, InVision is empowered to manage their system on their own without being dependent on a partner.
InVision has also laid the foundation to begin integrating their other systems. They plan to engage Align on a future project to expand UKG Pro™ capabilities to connect with their other platforms.
